About.

I am Meg.

A graduate of Cornell University. A lifelong learner. A wearer of many hats; however, the ones that currently suit me best are:

  • Brand strategist

  • Community developer

  • Digital content marketer

When working with a personal or business brand, I begin with understanding (or developing) a brand strategy. An effective brand strategy looks like:

"Hope is not a strategy."

Vince Lombardi

Why does strategy matter?

Your business can suffer if you don’t know who you are, why you exist, what you believe in, or what you’re trying to achieve.

Most importantly, without a coherent strategy, you are more likely to make poor resource allocation decisions, leading to profit loss, or worse, the death of your business.

Isn't that too rigid?

Agility is not a strategy - it's a capability.

Yes, it's a valuable capability that can have immediate benefits, but being able to turn on a dime doesn't mean you'll turn in the right direction.

Effective strategy guides effective marketing; effective marketing generates sales, respects the lifetime value of a customer, and drives sustained profit.

Strategy ⟶ Marketing ⟶ Sales ⟶ Profit

"The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itself."

Peter Drucker

Experimenting Social Engineering Cooking

When I'm not working, I'm on an adventure, a run, or helping someone reverse-engineer and work towards their health and wellness goals. I've thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail...twice, and won a marathon - grit is my DNA and the long-term process to achievement is my oxygen. I'm always listening, observing, and learning. I love fresh espresso and tinkering with my VW Vanagon Westfalia (well before #vanlife was a thing). I dislike small talk and shiny object syndrome. I'm not you're typical person, but I like me this way, and I think you will, too.
